CASE STUDY: THE WOODY BOATER
The Woody Boater is the website of the Reedville Railway, the longest continuously run marine railway in America – a boathouse really, The railway name comes from the rail system that lifts boats out of the water for maintenance. The boathouse now caters specifically to vintage wooden speedboats. The site racks up 190,000 page views a month, offering a daily blog on classic boats, a forum for technical information, and an online store. The assignment was to produce luxury images that reflect the property’s rich history (and the rapturously happily married owners) for use in a variety of media. The client posted, “I find this embarrassing to show photos of myself. But damn, Roy nailed it. I don’t look fat, miserable, have to pee and crazy. NO photoshop. Dang!”
